We are looking for talented University Graduates! Kick-start start your career with our Flex-Track Graduate Programme within the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) Division.

Our Graduate Programme supports your individual journey to unleash your full potential. We offer you three rotations in different teams, on- and off-the-job training and the opportunity to start building your own Julius Baer network. As a Flex-Track Graduate, you are in the driving seat to define your rotations 2 and 3 within all departments of the bank. One of these rotations will be an international assignment, enabling you to work abroad for a period of months.

Programme duration: 18 months

For your first rotation, join the CRO Division and become part of the Analytics & Transformation team in Zurich.
The Analytics & Transformation team provides technical solutions and objective critical thinking to help the Bank manage risks, and address remediation and investigations. We support an array of stakeholders within CRO globally, who turn to us for assistance with quantifying non-financial risk, developing predictive models, implementing new technologies, and deliver financial or economic analyses. During the Graduate Programme, you will have the opportunity to work in three highly skilled, purpose-built teams with experience in analytics, risk, compliance, banking and finance, enabling you to enrich your technical and business knowledge.

YOUR CHALLENGE

What to work on?

  • Work with complex financial data sets, uncovering trends or patterns that can be used to extract valuable insights to be used by Risk and Compliance Officers, senior leaders, and supervisory authorities.

  • Design, build and maintain pragmatic and statistically rigorous solutions to concrete problems raised by our internal clients by leveraging statistical and machine learning methodologies.

  • Work closely with business analysts and CRO teams to answer important risk questions using scientific techniques and research methods.

  • Think creatively, proactively, and innovatively to identify new opportunities within Julius Baer’s long-term roadmap for analytics.

What to learn?

  • Developing and testing robust prescriptive and predictive models that allows the division to deliver on the roadmap for analytics

  • Collaborate with colleagues and senior leaders globally to implement analytics solutions that create effectiveness and efficiency in various Banking processes.

  • Synthesize data and methodologies into actionable risk monitoring strategies.

  • Communicate effectively, understand, and make visible the value the data and developed solutions provided to the division.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Master's degree from a university in a quantitative field like Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent (graduation max. 12 months ago)

  • Knowledge in banking and finance and/or eagerness to learn about the financial industry

  • Initial practical experience with dataset analysis and model creation using R or Python

  • Experience navigating SQL databases

  • Committed researcher, constantly curious, questioning ideas and showing a keen interest in learning about our methods

  • Enthusiastic about leveraging data and statistical knowledge to solve complex problems

  • Very good communication and presentation skills, confident appearance

  • Independent, resilient, and agile personality

  • Team-oriented individual, enjoys collaborating with a diversity of experts, listening to different ideas, and voicing your own to deliver the best possible outcome

  • Entrepreneurial mindset, coupled with the willingness to take on responsibility

  • Fluency in English, other languages an advantage

  • Eligibility to work in Switzerland
